LFM Goes For Unique Sound In Radio

What can distinguish LFM in the Swiss radio landscape? Its on-air branding! So  the market leader among French-language commercial stations in Switzerland is  working with BRANDY, the Belgian producer of sonic design. This spring, LFM is  receiving 10 new tracks – and 3 of them have been custom-produced for the station’s morning show. As the commercial market leader in French-speaking Switzerland, LFM is known for its  solid content and exquisite musical format. By implementing the new audio branding at  the end of 2020, LFM added a decisive factor.

The new sound of Urban CHR: NPO FunX 2022

With a sound design update from PURE Jingles, the urban brand of Dutch public  broadcaster NPO is entering the sunny season of ’22. A trendsetting new package  for Urban Contemporary. 

As a mission for his brand, program director Niels Hoogland speaks of connecting  the youth and giving them a voice. “Our target group is part of the ‘urban culture’, a  mix of influences and backgrounds. Their differences are seen as an enrichment.” 

“FunX has a recognisable, unique and positive sound: that of the ‘generation of the  future’, which can heard on the station by talking about ideas, trends and innovation.  In addition, we want to contribute to the empowerment of our audience, whereby we  stand behind (but preferably next to) our target group.”

Ukraine 12-12 Sounds Unisono Via 6 National Radio Stations

The major media houses in Flanders – VRT, DPG Media, SBS and Mediahuis – are  joining forces on behalf of the victims of the invasion of Ukraine. Today, 17 March, they  launch the Ukraine 12-12 benefit action on 3 television channels and 6 national radio  stations. The sonic branding was created by branding agency Brandy. 

Radio 2, MNM, Studio Brussel, Nostalgie, Qmusic and Joe broadcast 14 hours of live radio  dedicated to helping the citizens of Ukraine. In the evening, a TV show will be broadcast on  één, VTM and Play4. 

Bart De Raes, who is coordinating the sonic branding for the project, recalls teaming with  Brandy: “A benefit action on 6 radio stations at the same time – what does that sound like? We  got together with Brandy to work on this question. Given the situation, we want to keep it  serious enough – still, the nature and tone-of-voice of the stations require a certain lightness,  a certain smile. Not an easy exercise, but you should definitely hear the result!”

Sky Radio works with PURE Jingles for new Power Intros

The number 1 non-stop music station is Sky Radio in the Netherlands. They have  commissioned PURE Jingles to create playlist-updated Power Intros (branded  songs), which are produced in collaboration with the station’s imaging team.  

Uunco Cerfontaine, Radio Director Sky Radio: “Music is what it’s all about at Sky.  Apart from news, weather & traffic, you will not hear any presenters, but 24/7 non stop music. It is therefore extra important that we create an optimal music flow with  which we help our listeners through their busy day. The UK’s Number 1 Hit Music Station, Capital, has received another massive update  from Dutch sonic branding specialist, PURE Jingles.  

Operated by the UK’s leading commercial radio company, Global, the Capital network  attracts close to 8 million listeners per week. Champagne FM Pops With Brandy Jingles

More than ever, Champagne FM is positioning itself as ‘La radio pop’ in the  Champagne-Ardenne region (France). So, in their search for an earcatching sonic  signature, the station turned to Brandy Jingles. The Belgian audio designers  created a new and super-recognizable sonic logo that clearly distinguishes the  package of 11 jingles and the news styling. 

Following Contact FM and RDL, Champagne FM is the third station of the Rossel Radio  group to receive an imaging makeover from Brandy. 

The Champagne FM team selected basic tracks from Brandy’s extensive catalogue – each track then received a remake tailored to the brand with an updated logo and catchy  vocals. 

The jingles fit perfectly with the station’s optimistic, lively and familiar atmosphere.

The perfect (jingle) mix for Sweden from PURE Jingles

Sweden’s AC radio powerhouse Mix Megapol, positioned as Den Perfekta Mixen (The  Perfect Mix), recently upgraded its package with custom jingles.  

Bauer Media is Europe’s biggest privately-owned broadcaster and Bauer Media Audio  in Sweden owns over 60% of the commercial market. Their biggest national station is  Mix Megapol, offering a variety format with music from the 80’s up to today. And the  station has not just one, but two big morning shows! 

Next to one broadcasting from the capital city Stockholm, there’s one airing from the  second-biggest city; Gothenburg. The first is hosted by Gry Forssell, well established  as one of the most popular television presenters in the country, but now primarily a  radio star after 17 years at Mix Megapol.  

She teams up with three co-hosts and a number of friends appearing on the show  regularly. All are well-known and appreciated celebrities, ranging from comedians to  artists and even politicians. The regional Gothenburg show has been on the air for 26  years, and is immensely popular on Sweden’s west coast.  

“For Mix Megapol, it’s important that our imaging fits all the various music styles and  enhances the mainstream sound. That’s has a positive, warm & modern vibe, yet not  too edgy. German public broadcaster, Deutschlandradio, has commissioned Wisebuddah to produce the new station sound for their alternative speech and music station, Deutschlandfunk Nova.

As the youngest member in the Deutschlandradio family, Deutschlandfunk Nova broadcasts nationally bringing dynamic, sophisticated and future-oriented radio to its young target audience.

The new package from the London-based production company features 12 bespoke themes, alongside a new punchy two-note sonic logo, which is built around and championing the unique ‘Nova’ character.

Australia’s most listened to radio network Nova has partnered with London’s Wisebuddah to launch a brand-new station sound.

Virage, Unique Styling For Electro-Rock Radio by BRANDY Jingles

Original 106 come back to AudioSweets for a brand new custom jingle package

AudioSweets ID are proud to announce the latest jingle package  for Aberdeen’s Original 106. A custom package consisting of a 7- cut jingle suite and full Utilities pack.

ReelWorld Presents “kronehit” Jingles 2022

Kronehit are back with fresh jingles and a brand new sonic logo for 2022. These dynamic themes are filled with modern sounds and textures designed to reflect the current playlists of European CHR.

Showcased here are new themes alongside some of the biggest pop and dance hits in this demo.

Jingles To Sing Along With All The Way: JOE 2021 Package by BRANDY Jingles

A year after its restyling, the Belgian AC station JOE has enlarged its jingle package with 6 new tracks that have been produced by BRANDY Jingles from Brussels. The package is an example of how sonic branding that fits perfectly between the biggest hits from the past 50 years also sounds current. 

This summer, JOE launched a preview of the new styling. Half of the package was remixed in special summer versions of the new jingles. Along with 3 other tracks, they are now also on air in their ‘regular’ versions for the new radio season. 

The jingles are a perfect addition to ‘JOE Your Greatest Hits All the Way’ – the package  that went on air exactly one year ago. The energetic sound of the basic package has  been expanded with several softer cuts. Moreover, the references to the music of the  80s make the package match perfectly with the vibe of today’s hits.

Smack Trax, Distinctive Sonic Branding from Brandy Jingles

MNM, the youth brand of public broadcaster VRT, has launched its newest jingle  update. “The reactions from DJs and listeners tell the story: this is another  magnificent package,” says Bart De Raes, Imaging Director at MNM. BRANDY has produced a series of new station IDs, styling for theme weeks such as  Marathon Radio and end-of-year celebrations. In addition, several programmes have  received their own generic, one of which was played by a small symphonic orchestra. 

The Smack Trax series is now in its 7th edition. Together with MNM’s management,  BRANDY devised a clear line for the station’s unique sonic branding. 

Bart De Raes: “With familiar recipes, but also with a serious dose of innovation, Brandy has  succeeded perfectly in finding the balance between a classic radio jingle and a modern  sound like you hear in music today. A crazy idea – we want a programme tune played by a  live band – can become reality. And how!”

RTÉ Radio 1’s 2021 Audio Imaging from ReelWorld: Real Pride and Joy

Ireland’s most listened to radio station, RTÉ Radio 1, has updated its brand sound with custom music from ReelWorld, performed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

The national broadcaster set out to modernize the audio image of the station, with a focus on its continuity themes and top of hour sequence, united by a new sonic logo.

15 new compositions make up the package which combines contemporary and traditional music styles, with an authentic sense of the station’s character running throughout. The themes span genres including folk, pop, Americana, and traditional Irish.

RTÉ Radio 1 Deputy Editor, Penny Hart, said: “What a truly wonderful experience it has been, working on this collaborative project to align the radio station’s content offering and tone of voice through music. We’re so proud of our identity and to hear it shine through these beautiful compositions is a joy.”

Following a competitive tender process, RTÉ selected ReelWorld, based in MediaCityUK, to work closely with the broadcaster’s staff on this unique project.

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra recorded the themes at RTÉ Radio Centre’s Studio 1 under COVID guidelines, in separate sections and across multiple sessions with remote direction via video link between conductor Gavin Murphy and the ReelWorld team. Alongside the orchestra’s core sections of strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion, its members also played traditional instruments including the fiddle, tin whistle, Irish flute and concertina.

Anthony Gay, Managing Director of ReelWorld added: “This is ReelWorld’s third recent experience working with the orchestras of national broadcasters, and we are privileged to support RTÉ with their new sound. We’re thrilled with the results and it’s wonderful to hear the project now on air.”

Creative Audio Manager for RTÉ, Shane Freeman said: “The passion of everybody working on this project is what has made it so special, resulting in something that will stand the test of time and carry the audio brand of the station into the future.”
