Radio Tribute for Toni Morrison

Toni Morrison, Nobel Prize-winning author of “Beloved”, “Song of Solomon”, “The Bluest Eye” and other classics, passed away on Monday night at New York City’s Montefiore Medical Center at the age of 88.

Morrison won the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for “Beloved”, which is considered her masterwork and is routinely ranked among the greatest novels of the 20th Century. In 1993, Morrison became the first African American woman to receive the Nobel literature prize.

Morrison was also honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the PEN/Saul Bellow Award for Achievement in American Fiction.
