Sunday Night Slow Jams Brings Format-Specific Shows to Nine New Markets; Grows to 123 Affiliates in Q1

Benztown’s internationally syndicated hit weekend radio show Sunday Night Slow Jams announces that it has expanded to nine new markets in the first quarter of 2016, bringing its total affiliate count to 123 stations. The growth was ignited as Sunday Night Slow Jams, the #1 weekend radio show in America, kicked off 2016 by making the show available to a wider variety of stations through three different formats: Rhythm/Urban, Top 40/Mainstream and the all-new Throwback edition.

On Sunday, March 27, the new Throwback edition of Sunday Night Slow Jams debuted on the show’s new affiliates in Seattle, WA (KHTP-FM, HOT 103.7) and in Minneapolis, MN (WGVX-FM/WGVX-AM/WRXP-FM trimulcast, 105 THE VIBE). The Throwback edition will debut in Tampa, FL (WTMP-AM, BOOMIN’ 1150) this Sunday, April 3. Also in Q1, Ocean City, MD’s WOCQ-FM and Gallup, NM, station KXTC-FM signed on to carry the Rhythm/Urban edition of Sunday Night Slow Jams. Rounding out the quarter, four additional markets signed on to air Sunday Night Slow Jams’ Top 40/Mainstream edition in Q1: McAllen-Brownsville, TX (KHKZ-FM and KQXX-FM); Rockford, IL (WZOK-FM); Montgomery, AL (WHHY-FM); and Charleston, SC (WMXZ-FM).

R Dub!, Creator, Host and Producer of Sunday Night Slow Jams said: “What an honor it is working with such fantastic radio stations and their respective PDs. Serving up three distinct versions really helps hone in on each station’s particular format and demo. Whether it’s The Weeknd, John Legend and Usher featured on the original Rhythm version; Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez and Zayn on our Top 40 version; or Boyz II Men, LL Cool J and Keith Sweat on the Throwback edition, we continue to bring monumental passion to radio listening every Sunday night.”

Mark Wilson, Vice President, Affiliate Sales, Fusion Radio Networks said: “Sunday Night Slow Jams is without a doubt, one of the most formidable syndicated programs on the market. Its ratings are proven across multiple dayparts and formats in various regions of the country. Examine the landscape of all the current available network products and you’ll find none with the masscontent appeal of Sunday Night Slow Jams. I’m proud to be afforded the opportunity to contribute to this established brand’s continuing growth.”

Mike Preston, Program Director of KHTP-FM in Seattle, said: “Sunday Night Slow Jams is an excellent complement to Hot 103.7, especially since the Throwback Edition fits us PERFECTLY. R Dub! not only crafts the show, but does a great job giving us custom whatever-we-need!”

Billy Santiago, Senior Vice President, Programming, KHKZ-FM and KQXX-FM, in McAllen-Brownsville, TX, said: “Great to hear Sunday Night Slow Jams on KISS FM!  We’re looking forward to an awesome year with R Dub!; great way to wrap up the weekend with Slow Jams and Oral Expressions!”

Now with 123 affiliates across diverse markets around the world, a weeknight version of Sunday Night Slow Jams, and R Dub!’s All-Slow Jams online channel, Slow Jams currently reaches over three million consumers per week. In addition to Sunday’s three format choices, R Dub! produces a weeknight version of Slow Jams, which airs Monday through Thursday from 10PM-12M.
