Radio Nova, the Student Radio in Oslo, is seeking a new general manager in a 100% position, with overall responsibility for finances and organizational operations, and to facilitate voluntary radio production, according to a job advertisement.

The CEO reports to the Board, and is responsible for implementing adopted strategies, contact with relevant organizations and financial management. Together with the responsible editor, the general manager ensures good framework conditions for the volunteers, so that the best possible radio is made.

The position is advertised as a three-year target with the possibility of an extension. The working hours are primarily daytime, but some evening and weekend work must be expected. The editorial offices are at Chateau Neuf – Det Norske Studentersamfund, at Majorstua in Oslo.

• In addition to experience with finance, we want a person with experience from management and preferably experience from voluntary organizational work. In addition to administrative competence, the applicant must have the ability to motivate employees and create cohesion in the channel, the announcement states.

Radio Nova, the Student Radio in Oslo, is Norway’s oldest and largest student radio, and was started in 1982 as a successor to the Oslo Students Radio Club (OSRC), which had worked with radio technology since the 1950s.

The channel is non-commercial, and broadcasts 24 hours a day at DAB + in Oslo and Akershus, as well as on www.radionova.no.

The business is mainly based on the efforts of about 200 volunteer staff, but also has an employee general manager and four paid staff.

In addition to being a radio for the metropolitan area’s 70,000 students, Radio Nova is also an important cultural and local radio in the Oslo area.
