About M105

Following the closure of CHEF-AM 1450 in January 1996, a few former employees of the station undertook to launch a new FM radio station, a first for Granby and its area. The regional population immediately supported the project with enthusiasm. With this support, the Coopérative de travail of Granby Radio was set up.

In April 1997, the Cooperative obtained a CRTC license to operate the radio station CFXM-FM (M105) on frequency 104.9. Even before the official opening of the station, the company is a big winner of the “Become an Entrepreneur” contest organized by the Quebec Institute of Entrepreneurship. She won three prizes, including the first national prize.

In January 1998, the greater Granby region was hit hard by the ice storm. During this period, M105 plays a leading role in ensuring the link between the regional authorities and the population. All then salute the work done by the team in place.

In 1999, it was again distinguished by being awarded the Greater Montreal Cooperative Succession Award by the Montreal Regional Development Co-operative (CDR).

Since its opening, M105 is the voice of community organizations in the region. The resort never hesitates to get involved to increase the influence and promote the development of the social economy.
