With 3 two minute episodes a week the drama will start on the 28th February 2011 and be broadcast Monday, Wednesday & Friday with an omnibus over the weekend. There will also be podcasts of the weekend omnibus available.

The drama follows the lives of the ‘Glen Castle’ community – a fictional village called Glen Castle based in the Isle of Man. The story is centred around The Harbourwall Hotel, where the new landlords have moved in to renovate and re-invigorate the business. The serial follows the Glen Castle people as they cope with the trials, tribulations and fun of everyday life on the Isle of Man.

Manx Radio’s Business Director, John Marsom said, regarding the new series:

“This is a first for Manx Radio and is a very exciting project for the station and the Sponsor. After drafting up the initial concept we were really impressed with how quickly S2Blue scripted the initial episodes and were bang on target with the vision.”

Glen Castle will be Manx Radio’s first Podcast and the series will also have its own FaceBook tab on all presenter pages.

Simon Prentice, Managing Director of S2blue, said:

“It’s a real first for S2blue – we’ve never undertaken anything like Glen Castle before and it’s been a lot of work setting it all up from scratch but we’re all enjoying working on it. The writers have had a lot of fun coming up with characters and there’s some really interesting storylines coming up over the year.

There are over 20 actors involved – a mixture of Isle of Man residence and people in S2blue’s locality. On the night of the first session you could feel the excitement of the actors as they read through the first scripts. ”
